Sam
Thompson - guitar/vocals
Sam Thompson sidetracked a solo career as a singer-song writer to join
up with the Radio. Sam plays guitar while also managing to write much
of the bands original music. Sams songwriting ranges from
tender, substantive ballads to lyrics that give wry observation an edgy
sort of whimsy. Sam sings with a clarity and power that is tempered by
his tasteful mastery of phrasing and evocative delivery.
Will
Jennings - harmonica/vocals
Will Jennings plays harmonicas as well as singing lead and harmony vocals.
He has recorded and performed with a variety of artists, including Cam
Waters, BeJae Fleming, Alastair Moock, Becca Sutliff, Mike & Amy Finders, The Heptiles & Wheel Hoss. Will's playing is clean, articulate, "melodic and evocative", but can get down to the grit, grind, jump, and snarl of boogie, swing, and blues.
Joe
Peterson - mandolin/vocals
Joe Peterson has played and recorded with Al Murphy, Dale Thomas, the Burlington Street Bluegrass Band, Too Much Yang and the La Fosse Baroque Ensemble. The Mandocrucian’s Digest, "America’s Mandolin Publication", wrote, "Joe is a fine mandolinist... When he solos you can hear plenty of taste and technique."
Dan
Brown - bass/vocals
Dan Brown plays Fender basses exclusively and sings his own lead and harmony vocal parts - lending an air of authenticity to the band's performances. Dan pens about half of the original tunes in the Radio's songbook and composes commercial jingle and soundbed music on the side. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Dave Moore, Too Much Yang, Alan Murphy, Bell & Shore, Cam Waters, and midwest bluegrass legends Wheel Hoss. Forrest Rose, bassist for Perfect Strangers, the Rank Sinatras and Monkey Grip once said, "He is one of best bass players ever to strap one on. He exemplifies 'rock solid' rhythm and is never out of tune."
