Big Wooden Radio is a roots-based acoustic band featuring tight harmony vocals. Their eclectic sets are highlighted by original compositions as well as unique arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs.

With three highly acclaimed CD releases to their credit, Big Wooden Radio has gathered a regional and national following. They have opened for national touring acts such as Wilco, The Neville Brothers, Jesse Winchester, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, Sam Bush, The Del McCoury Band, Dan Hicks, The Yonder Mountain String Band, Big Sandy & His Flyright Boys, Robbie Fulks, The Nadas, and Terrance Simien.

BWR's music has been used as a soundtrack for the ABC Network's Emmy Award-winning news program “20/20,” and their latest release was featured on NPR's flagship music and entertainment program, “Anthem.”

The band has also appeared at numerous national, regional, and local music & arts festivals, including the famous Telluride Bluegrass Festival, South by Southwest (SXSW-Austin, Texas), Iowa City Arts Fest, Des Moines Arts Fest, the College Hill Arts Festival, and many others.
